Poor eyesight hampers our daily lifestyle. Blind spots, vision, Reduced color vision, etc., are some of its samples that may further worsen the situation. Factors that may cause Poor Vision:
- It is the area of the retina which is responsible for sharp vision. If this deteriorates, it can precipitate blurry vision. This precipitates blurry vision. Even though it is an age-related problem, hereditary conditions can also sometimes play a vital role.
- Diabetic Retinopathy: Patients of diabetes are at severe risk for damage to blood vessels that nourish the retina. Damage can worsen with time.
- Retinal Detachment: Loss of vision may happen if the Retina in the eye gets detached from the underlying layer.
- Cataract: In such cases, a part or whole of the lens of an eye gets clouded. This is an age-related problem and can be treated successfully.
- Glaucoma: Internal eye pressure increases which results in causing damage to the eye. Blockage hampers blood flow in the optic nerve, which may result in Glaucoma. If diagnosed early, drugs and surgery can be helpful, but complete vision may not be restored.
- Dry Eye: Some studies have shown that Acupuncture may improve mid-term outcomes related to dry eye in a very effective manner as compared to artificial tears that modern medicine prescribes. Inner corners of the eye and inner end of the eyebrows are pierced with needles, so as to improve eyesight.
Most of the studies done in this regard are merely indicative in nature. Henceforth, it is suggested that the studies be further corroborated with tests, and a combination of Acupuncture along with modern medicine may be used. Consult an experienced Acupuncture specialist and seek his opinion.
